Kandoni Soren is a popular social media star who is mainly popular because of conserving forests against illegal three cutters and protecting the natural resources in Jharkhand state. Women members team which generally useful save the forest area.
Every morning, she along with her tribal women group from Sarkaghat leave their houses with armed sticks and bow arrows together. They march to the whole forest and the borders of the forest and then disperse into the dipper areas and whenever they notice any person cutting the forbidden tree they shoot them.
Kandoni says that many village residents were already beginning to feel the brunt of environmental degradation, and began migrating to other cities to look for alternate sources of livelihood. “I made multiple attempts to stop tree cutting and even approached the village panchayat and forest officers with complaints. But in vain,” she recalls.
