Asif made his 20-20 debut for Kerala in 2018 Zonal T20 League on 12th January 2018. Later the same month, he was bought by the Chennai Super Kings in 2018 IPL auction.
He made his List A debut for Kerala in 2018 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 9th February 2018.
He made his first-class debut on 9th December 2019, for Kerala in the 2020 Ranji Trophy.
